Ok here is what the lyrics in Lyric Interpretation Test #1 were about.
The song was In Hand, Our Fire by Zap Em Dead Bartholomew and the singer is singing about a relationship where the person he was dating stopped having feelings for him and was cheating on him with someone else. He says "I watched you forget me and dream of the north" meaning he saw he was being forgotten for better things... or a better person. Then he says "I drove you to the hospital, and walked myself back home" meaning that he helped this person and did something that healed them in one way or another and they paid no attention to him and just forgot him.
He says " I finally figured out, the letters you both always wrote". Here he is referring to his girlfriend and her new lover. Then he says "Ill keep my distance from every thought I have about you forgetting me and never coming home. " That part kind of speaks for itself saying that he doesn't want to think about her leaving him. Then in the chorus he says "The thought that this was all in the wrong direction." Meaning that he never really saw how bad their relationship was. Then in verse 2 he says "Lacing your fingers with a liar's." Meaning hes holding hands with this girl, knowing that shes a cheater. And he says "Still unaware that ill be coming home tonight." This might mean that he walked in on them together. And then he says "Beneath the colors, you look brilliant" which is just telling her how beautiful she is. Then the final part he says "oh my god I've become the one that leaves. Brave just this last one. Will i be seeing you again? Tell me softly" Meaning that finally he knew he had to leave her, so he did. And hes wondering if she will come back to him.
Well there it is. An absolutely AMAZING song by probably my all-time favorite band. Somewhat sad and depressing meaning... but everyone needs to face the truth in their lives.

You figured out this by yourself? The only thing i figured out that it was some kind of relationship thing. other than that there is NO way i could get it and in so much detail. It is sad but these are the things people are going through. We talked about this before, it does not point directly to Christ but these kinds of songs get people interested and then they listen to the other songs by the band that do point directly to Christ and the Holy spirit opens their heart and they come to know Jesus as their Saviour.
ReplyDeleteIt is a great song and band. i would have liked to see them in concert when they were togethor.
Give me till Saturday evening on the UO song i want to listen to it,sometimes i do better if i hear the song.
Either that or my brain cells are fried from the auto chemicals i have been exposed to over the years.
